The Best Abstract Salmon Sandwich & Taco Build

In honor of our Salmon Series with

Test Kitchen Thursdays with AC Art Of Food (Thursdays at 7pm on, we decided to do a couple of easy meals that are deliciously useful in repurposing leftovers.

For our sandwich build, we added a beautiful lightly toasted 'Everything Seasoning' sourdough bread. For the tacos we added the nutrient dense nutty flavor of roasted sunflower seeds to our zesty creamy slaw topping. These simple inexpensive upgrades will take your palate to another world!

With a few refrigerator and pantry staples most likely already on hand, my tested-tried-and-true Abstract Perfectly Seared Salmon recipe, these two assemblies are perfect for quick weekday dinners or even a conveniently healthy weekend grab-and-go!

But don't take my word for it, try both of these for yourselves and let me know!


  1. Toast 2 slices of your chosen bread.

  2. Spread one slice of the toasted bread with mayo and the other with pesto.

  3. Layer the mayo spread toast in this order:

    1. fresh spinach

    2. prepared salmon fillet

    3. onion

    4. tomato

    5. sprinkle tomato with Abstract Rose Sea Salt

    6. top with pesto spread toast slice to finish

Slice and enjoy!


  • small flour or corn soft tortillas

  • 1 cup shredded cabbage and carrots

  • 1 tbsp vegan mayo (regular will suffice)

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1/2 lime juiced

  • 2 tbsp roasted sunflower seeds

  • Thinly sliced red onion

  • Sriracha or your favorite taco sauce

  • *sliced avocados, jalapeno peppers, cotija cheese*

  1. Grill or warm tortillas to your liking

  2. Combine: shredded veggies, mayo, seeds, lime juice, honey, and 1/2 tsp Abstract Lemon Salt & Pepper- set aside.

  3. Layer tortilla in this order:

    1. crumble on desired amount of salmon

    2. add a few spoonfuls of slaw

    3. top with red onion

    4. drizzle on your fav sauce

    5. *add your favorited additional toppings

Finish with a squeeze of lime and enjoy!
