Now, this is what happens when you visit one of your besties in Cincinnati and she takes you to her new fav neighborhood spot because she just knows you'll just adore their cheese board.....
.....ahhhh, my TT knows me SO well!🤗
Hats off to @telabarandkitchen for showing me mad love, an electric vibatious atmosphere, awesome service and conversation(thanks Michael😘), and one of the most scrumptiously phenomenal cheese and accoutrement selections that had my toes curling from the first bite to the last!😋
It's truly a warm and welcoming restaurant priding themselves in buying local, organic and serving seasonal. Needless to say, I was in pure heaven with my fresh grapefruit and lime margarita in hand!😌
Oh, and be sure to end the night with the Chocolate Torte- but sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top to make the flavor soar!!
So if you're ever in the Cincinnati area, BE SURE to check this spot out!!! It's a MUST!!

The very first time I experienced the renowned ‘Impossible Burger’ was right around the corner at my neighborhood bar and grill, Sandtown Pub. My sister and I were finishing up some last minute holiday grocery shopping and were famished! I suggested we stop here because I had been meaning to give this burger that I heard so much about a try. We sat down, placed our order, and waited. Shortly after our food arrived pipping hot and smelling amazing, the waitress nods to my burger, ‘You’re going to love that right there’! I was super excited (as I usually am when it comes to food, duh!), and excitedly asked her had she had the burger herself. She told me that everyone that comes in to order it raves about it. Not only that, they had one customer that would come in on a regular basis and order this Impossible Burger and add BACON to it! WTH??!?!?! She said one day she couldn’t stand it any longer and just had to ask the patron why is it that they would take this perfectly delicious plant-based-vegan burger and defeat its purpose by adding crisped swine to it! She said the customer looked at her puzzled and said, ‘…wait, this isn’t meat’? Can you believe it! This faithful customer had been ordering this burger all this time having NO clear idea at all that it was vegan!! Once she told me that, I already knew it was going to be phenomenal….and it did not disappoint!
The burger itself reminds me of how Steak ’N’ Shake burgers USED to be. Juicy and delicious, and crispy around the edges. That’s what this Impossible Burger was. Great flavor and amazing texture with all the fixings, including a soft toasted bun.
If you have not experienced the Impossible Burger yourself, I highly recommend you finding one and devouring it immediately!
Now here I go. We were having burger night one Friday at the house, and I decided I would take out this pack of Beyond Burgers that were in the freezer. When I’ve prepared this particular burger in the past, I’d simply season on both sides and lay on the grill. However, I had the taste for an Impossible-style burger that night.
So I began to flatten the Beyond Burger, season and flip, and place on the grill.
*NOTE TO SELF: Next time I’ll wait to flatten the burger once it’s on the grill, as when I tried to flatten it on a platter, the burger tore apart easily.
As I grill both sides, I begin to see the edges crisp up and my mouth begins to water. The grill marks are perfect giving it that great char-look. I dress the burger with an ‘Everything’ bun, spinach, no tomato, pickle, sliced onion, mayo, and mustard, and DIG IN!!!!
OMG!!! Now, it wasn’t that either version was better than the other, the Impossible at Sandtown Pub, or the Beyond from my kitchen. They were both equally delicious in their own rights! Each had a unique flavor of their own which was very tasty all around.
Needless to say, when I want to go out for a burger or if we’re grilling or having family burger night at the house, it’s good to know I’m covered deliciously either way!
What plant based burgers are your favs and how do you dress them? Let me know in the comments below!
Want the inside scoop on how restaurants get you to come out of your pocket and at the end of your meal have you wondering, ‘What did I order?’
Here’s the scoop! An article written in Excelle– a social networking site created primarily for the career-minded woman, gives 10 restaurant menu ‘illusions’ that entice and ultimately get you to come out of your pocket more generously than you may have intended. Everything from, ‘this isn’t what it looks like in the commercial’ to why adding ‘bacon’ to a dish immediately increases its worth, is laid out for you here so you can be better equipped next time you dine out.
Hey, make it a great tasting Friday!
Because I LOVE everything food, I thought it would be an awesome idea to provide a listing of restaurant grades for our state’s largest county, Fulton.
These restaurants have numerical scores and are translated pretty much the same as school grades with 100 being perfect, or in this case, a restaurant with no violations. However, know that a deduction is taken for every violation given by the inspector. What the violation is for is the mystery! Don’t be mislead by assuming unwashed hands or spoiled food is the culprit in every situation. It may be something minor as a leaky dishwasher. For this matter, if you see your favorite restaurant listed with a not-so-favorable score, your best bet is to either drop by or call and speak with a manager to find out what’s really going on!
Yes, the holiday season is upon us, and there will be plenty of shopping. And with shopping comes dining out. So here is my holiday gift to all my readers- Eat well & SAFE!

Make it a Great Tasting Day
Talk about one of the best restaurants ever in Atlanta! Does anyone remember The Coach and Six on Peachtree and how it had the most divine American Contemporary cuisine ever! I had my first and last intoxicating experience back in 1994. They served delicious dishes such as Lobster Ravioli, their famous Triple Cut Lamb Chops, and my ABSOLUTE favorite dish, the Traditional Shrimp Scampi- another entry in my internal cookbook that has led me to love gourmet food the way I do today.
(Right next door to where The Coach and Six used to reside is the fabulous R.Thomas!!! My husband would eat their wings every night if I let him. I’m quite partial to their version of Eggs Benedict (on wheat toast). You talk about tasty-healthy food, R.Thomas is definitely one of my inspirations when I create my menus of healthy gourmet.)
I have no idea why The Coach and Six closed, but if anyone knows, or has an idea of what restaurant in Atlanta or anywhere, comes close, please, I’d love to know!
Remember, SHARING is caring!
